CBS August Blues Jam hosted by Ali Penney & The Canberra Treasury.

Ali Penney is Canberra's piano boogie-woogie queen and can't wait to bring her personal brandof blues, soul and funk in the form of Ali Penney and The Canberra Treasury to the August Blues Jam.

Rawness and emotion are what strikes you when you hear Ali Penney. Her husky, soulful voice is matched perfectly by the smooth sounds of the keyboard she loves to play so much. She may consider herself a pianist first, but there is award winning honest vulnerability in Ali Penney’s vocals.

Ali has played for and supported some of the best: Lynwood Slim, Johnnie Johnson, Chris Cain, Lucinda Williams, Cephas and Wiggins, The Tailgators and Chris Wilson and more - she has even played with Walter Washington and the Palm Court Orchestra in New Orleans!

More than anything else, Ali Penney is a band leader and, as lead singer of well known Sydney band, The Money Makers, she knows how to put on a show – a funny and entertaining show – and play songs to get you toe-tapping and dancing.

The Canberra Treasury are George Rigatos (guitar), Matt "Ginja Ninja" Nightingale (bass) and Mitch "Red Herring" Preston (drums). Special guest Dorothy-Jane Gosper (harp & backing vocals)
