2023 Chinese Lantern Festival – free fun for the whole family!
In Chinese culture the Lantern Festival marks the end of the two-week Chinese New Year celebrations.
This year the Australia China Friendship Society (www.acfs.org.au) will hold the Lantern Festival from 6.30 – 9.30pm on Saturday 4 February 2023, at the Beijing Garden, Flynn Drive, Yarralumla (behind the Hyatt Hotel).
This event is FREE. There will be performances of Chinese music, dancing, and martial arts. The festivities will conclude with a Lantern Parade, always a highlight for children.
Bring a picnic and enjoy a family evening by Lake Burley Griffin. Only bottled water will be available for purchase. Bring your own lantern or buy one there.
The Festival will be cancelled in case of rain – please check our website on the day www.acfs.org.au
