Budgie - one of the earliest and most influential British metal bands of the early to mid-seventies and a seminal influence on many acts of that emerging scene including Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Saxon and Def Leppard. Budgie’s career was to last over 40 years, 15 albums, 11 official singles, and headlining major festivals around the world.

Budgie never made it to Australia until 2008! And of course they performed a sellout show at the Governor Hindmarsh.

Julien Cope describes Budgie as "the greatest unsung proto-metal band of all time". (Proto-metal is a combination of blues with psychedelic rock that became the basis of heavy metal music.)

Budgie songs have been covered by some of the biggest bands in the world including Metallica, Van Halen, Soundgarden, Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Queens of the Stone Age, Alice in Chains and Airborne just to name a few.

Enter Crash Course Budgie – The only Australian Budgie Tribute band
