To mark NAIDOC Week, the Fremantle Arts Centre will host an in-conversation artist talk with skilled wood (punu) artists Tanya Singer and Errol Evans and celebrated furniture design Trent Jansen to discuss their epic cross-cultural collaboration three years in the making.

In an inspiring interchange of culture and creativity, the artists have spent the last few years visiting each-others communities, learning from their unique relationships with tradition, family and community to produce an exquisite collection of highly crafted timber furniture which seeks to highlight the impact of climate change, and the resilience of First Nations peoples and their connection to Country.

Trent, Tanya and Errol will share stories on collaboration across distance, culture and discipline in a salient reminder of the value of listening and exchange.

Concurrently launched at Melbourne Design Week, Kurunpa Kunpu | Strong Spirit is on display at the Fremantle Arts Centre until 23 July. The talk is free to attend with registration (link on the website section above).
