Chinese lacquer art originated from the primitive period over 8000 years ago and has a long historical tradition and unique artistic beauty. It has always been known for its high craftsmanship, skillful design, and beautiful charm.

As part of the extended activities for “Encounter Lacquer - Fujian Lacquer Art Exhibition”, Mr Qiu Zhijun, Director of Fujian Museum of Art, will host a “Fujian Lacquer Art Lecture” at China Cultural Centre in Sydney. Combining the exhibited artworks, the lecture will remarkably narrate the history, development, and innovation of the Chinese lacquer art, showcasing the aesthetics of traditional Eastern craftsmanship, increasing the understanding and awareness of Fujian lacquer art among the Australian people and further enhancing the artistic research and cultural exchange between China and Australia.
