FAQ
What is a Munch?
A munch is a casual social get together of kinksters, fetishists and those that are kink curious.

Who can attend Fruity?
All queer kinksters, and those that love them! As long as you are interested in getting to know new people, make new connections, or help building community, you are welcome!

What will happen on the night?
The bar is open for happy hour from 2-7, but I'll likely get in at 6pm. You are welcome to be there earlier (we will be setting up at the back if the weather is good!). From approximately 7pm-8pm there will be a few rounds of friend speed dating which is optional but a great way to meet new people and lots of fun (and there will be plenty of prompts!). The rest of the evening will be a chance to meet your community and make new connections over a beverage and snacks of your choice.

What do I wear?
You can wear anything you would be comfortable wearing out to a bar, including kink attire. All genitals must be covered. Please note that there is not enough space in the venue to have a changing area, so if you can’t change into it in the bathroom, please wear it in, or wear it to another event. Please be aware that this is a semi-public space as we currently do not have the entire bar booked out.

Will there be photos?
There will not be a dedicated event photographer for this event. If you are taking photos of yourself/friends please ensure that you have the consent of everyone in the image both when taking photos and sharing. If you take photos of those at the munch and/or share images without consent, you will not be welcome back.

Can I play?
No this is not a play event. Feel free to discuss kinky topics or sexual politics, however keep in mind the consent of those around you and that everyone has different values and opinions. While you might find a new hottie, keep the hot and heavy stuff outside the venue - we don’t need to see your tongues, bums, or anything else. If you are found playing at this event you and anyone involved will be removed from the space.

How much are tickets?
Munch tickets will be $10 entry to allow us to have a booked space at the bar and track numbers.

Is there food/drink at the venue?
Beans has a lovely bar, with non alcoholic options available. All food available is vegan, and there are plenty of excellent food places nearby on Smith St whether you swing by before or after dinner.

Are masks required?
Masks are strongly suggested as a way to ensure we are keeping all members of our community safe.

What about accessibility?
Beans Bar is an accessible space (portable ramp entry that can be put out for wheelchair/ease of access over the one entry step). The bathrooms currently are not accessible for large wheelchairs.
In terms of sensory needs, there will be music playing for atmosphere, and possibly loud discussion occurring as the night continues, as well as bar noises. Headphones and stim toys are available at the venue to be used.

Notes on Values
We humbly acknowledge the traditional owners of the land that this event is occurring on, the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation. All kink is a political form with a histories of subjugation and torture in this country and others, and it is a privilege to be able to explore this as pleasure craft and community creation on this land that has existed unceded for over 60 thousand years. Always was, always will be Aboriginal land.

Please note that inappropriate behaviour including but not limited to queer or transphobia, racism, harassment, ableism, damaging the venue, etc will result in removal from the space. Removal from the space or banning from the event is at the discretion of the event organiser and does not require justification.
