Grant Haua is no stranger to WA having toured annually 2015-2019 with New Zealand’s most influential Blues Duo, Swamp Thing. Departing the duo in 2019 to pursue his solo career, all roads lead to Europe with Grant signing to French recording label Dixie Frog Records, ahead of his latest album AWA Blues ranking in the top 25 albums 2021, in Rolling Stone Magazine France. We welcome Grant back to Esperance WA accompanied on stage by WA’s own The Soul Decree: John Wilson on Bass Guitar, Marcus Tromp on Drums and the captivating support vocals of Elise Lux.

In Jan 2019 after 4 albums and many tours through Australia and New Zealand I made the difficult decision to depart Swamp Thing, I've focused on the music I really enjoy, soul music, and things are all good, my 2nd solo album "AWA BLUES" was a Top 25 album of the year in Rolling Stone magazine France in 2021, it opened up touring in Europe for me, getting a gig on the iconic German Music TV show Rockpalast was a highlight. I'm currently with the small but almost family French label DixieFrog and I couldn't be happier having released 3 albums thus far under their banner,,,and I'm still trying to learn the guitar.

A seasoned artist who touches all kinds of points in the blues and folk from Taj Mahal and JJ Cale to dialled down Stevie Ray and even an adventurous touch of acoustic James Blood Ulmer. Seems like this is Grant Haua's time' Graham Reid (Elsewhere Magazine).

‘AWA BLUES’ In the Top 25 Albums of the year 2021, Rolling Stone France

35 date… 6 week Aotearoa Awa Blues solo tour Oct 20-Dec 4 2022 New Zealand
