Hip Hop High Tea - A Mediterranean Vacation

It’s been oolong time coming, an afternoon of teas, eats & beats!
MzRizk in collaboration with Capers will be presenting the first Hip Hop High Tea since 2018!
Stay warm and cozy this winter with Naarm tastemakers and beatmakers MzRizk and Sensible J when they hit Thornbury High Street's renowned laidback neighbourhood bar Capers as Hip Hop High Tea - A Mediterranean Vacation takes over the venue on Saturday 15 July. Serving up a carefully curated selection of Hip Hop, RnB, and Arabic sounds alongside Mediterranean comfort food with a selection of teas hand selected by MzRizk this is an afternoon that guarantees to arouse your senses and melt away your cares.

Capers head chef Arianthe (like Madonna) has been cooking traditional family recipes from Crete her entire life and has designed a delicious menu that puts a Mediterranean spin on traditional High Tea cuisine. Each guest will receive a delightful selection of savoury and sweet treats served with the finest tea discovered by MzRizk on travels abroad, a fuss free experience of high tea with high quality music, food and drinks where people are welcome to spend time with friends and to make and break bread with new friends.

The menu will feature Dolmades, Sliders, Pitakia, Baklava, Ice Cream and Glyko Tou Koutaliou, alongside teas regularly consumed in the Mediterranean and surrounding areas, TWG & Jajjah Tea created by artist Hassan Hajjaj, both of which are not readily available in Australia and a selection of flavoured black teas and a tisane.

Opened in 2019 by cousins Christian Evripidou and Anastasios Konnari, Capers draws inspiration from their yiayia's house in Cyprus aiming to create a comforting and nostalgic atmosphere reminiscent of a traditional Cypriot home.

Each guest can choose between an alcoholic or non-alcoholic welcome iced tea cocktail on arrival and the venue is able to cater for most dietary requirements.

Mediterranean hospitality is renowned for its warmth, generosity, and welcoming nature, MzRizk and Capers look forward to welcoming you all to Rizky's 7th Hip Hop High Tea. This collaboration has been inspired by their upbringing, enjoying the company of others over food, tea, and music.
