House Keys Album and Zine Launch

An evening of local love to celebrate House Keys 2 - a 32 track compilation album of south east QLD artists covering local songs AND a DIY ‘zine featuring 32 local artists’ pieces on the themes of living in south east QLD and what the words “house keys” conjured for them.
The evening will feature live performances from album contributors Big Dead, Chiffon Magnifique, FLOODING. and Sebya.

It will also be the first time that the ‘zine will be available, alongside some amazing and exclusive merch created by the masterful George Levi.

Brisbane six-piece BIG DEAD bring a kind of world-weary abandon to their particular brand of jazz-infused rock. The group's music evokes that sombre, heavy-lidded romantic postlude - mementos more sedated slow burn than agitated recollection. At the heart of Big Dead is a take-no-prisoners musical ambition, eager to hurl the listener from chaos through to catharsis.

CHIFFON MAGNIFIQUE is a bewitching musical act that delves into the realms of post-punk, minimal wave, and goth rock, crafting a unique sonic experience. With a penchant for exploring themes of pain, death, sex, and leather, Australian musician and producer Jed A. Walters weaves haunting melodies and introspective lyrics into a tapestry of raw emotion. Utilising heavily affected guitar tones, plucked bass, drum machine beats, and dark synth sounds, Walters’ music transports listeners to a shadowy realm where darkness and beauty intertwine. Drawing inspiration from influential artists such as The Cure, Molchat Doma, The Soft Moon, Cocteau Twins, Martin Dupont, and Xeno & Oaklander, Chiffon Magnifique creates a mesmerising soundscape that leaves an indelible mark on the listener's soul.

FLOODING. are a shoegaze band formed in Brisbane, in late 2020. The band consists of Aidan Geraghty (vocals, guitar), Luke Hackett (lead guitar), David Skitmore (bass, vocals) & Jacob Wort-Field (drums). Their music is characterised by a mixture of fierce walls of noise with moments of airy flourish. All of this sits amongst the vocals of the yearning siren itself.

The aching, slowly evolving songs of SEBYA are masterpieces of economy and feeling. Songwriter Demetry Malahoff, along with cellist Felicity Mohr, bassist Felix Armytage, and drummer Talia Bond, use space and beauty to drag the listener back home to tender and true places.
