Pianist Kade Brown, originally from Melbourne but recently relocated to Berlin, is a musician with a unique flair for groove and improvisation that draws from a wide range of styles including jazz, New Orleans funk, calypso and afro-cuban music.
Kade is known for his versatility and his sound pays homage to pianists like Errol Garner, Earl Hines, Reuben Gonzales and Keith Jarrett, whilst having a musical sensibility drawn to traditional and electronic dance music styles. Kade’s 2018 award-winning cinematic jazz album was inspired about the Australian landscape and the stark juxtaposition of the elements where he grew up in the coastal NSW, and his upcoming release “Glasses” moves toward kaleidescopic grooves and textures borrowed from techno break-beat, and eastern-european rhythmic cycles.
Kade regularly collaborates in Melbourne with Uncomfortable Science, The Cope Street Parade, Julien Wilson, Lucie Thorne, Brian Campeau and Ina Forsman (GER).
