Ice Holds features the work of Kirsten Haydon and is on display in Object space at Australian Design Centre.

Inspired by the salient condition of ice as it preserves knowledge and histories from the surrounding environment and atmosphere within its structure, Kirsten Haydon explores the concept and actions of ‘holding’ in her work, while considering the transition, and movement of Antarctic landscapes.

In this installation, Ice Holds comprises 36 pendants, each containing a phototransfer image when positioned together in a grid pattern, the image of the Barne Glacier is visible.

Ice Holds is on display 30 March – 24 May 2023.

Object Space is a window gallery located in the window of the Australian Design Centre HQ on William Street in Darlinghurst. The exhibition space has direct street frontage, is accessible to view 24 hours a day and is lit for viewing at night.
