Come see Noongar singing and dancing in the moonlight!

You’re invited to partake in a joyous celebration of culture and country in this high-spirited opening event for Joondalup Festival.

Set in motion with an incredibly special Welcome to Country and smoking ceremony, the night bursts to life as Noongar dance groups from across the state come together on Mooro country to dance and sing under the stars.

You’ll be captivated by the richly narrated stories, deadly dance moves and undulating music. Don’t forget to check out the market stalls, where you’ll be able to pick up locally-made products including arts and crafts, food, and clothing from Indigenous small businesses.

Grab some tucker from the range of food trucks then find a spot on the grass to sit and relax or shimmy and sway the night away.

Meeukang Warangka ba Kenniny means dancing and singing in the moonlight in the language of the Whadjuk Noongar people, and that’s exactly what we plan to do. So, let’s come together and share in a wonderful evening of culture… woola, woola, WOOLA!

This event is part of Joondalup Festival 2023.See the rest of the eye-popping program at joondalupfestival.com.au
