A leisurely 22 km cycle from Victoria Park via the Capital City Trail then along the Maribyrnong River for lunch at the Anglers Tavern, overlooking the river. A great way to appreciate inner Melbourne's beautiful parks and waterways.
We'll pass by the Abbotsford Convent and Dights Falls. We then follow the Merri Creek and the Inner Circle Rail Trail to Royal Park, and finally the Moonee Ponds Creek and Maribyrnong River trails to get to our lunch spot.
After lunch there are links to various cycling routes to extend the ride if you wish. Some of the group will travel via Docklands to Southern Cross Station / Flinders Street Station. Alternatively, there are several train stations within 5.6 km of the Anglers Tavern:
* South Kensington Station is recommended (5.6 km)
* Moonee Ponds Station is closest (2.6 km) but involves a hill
* Footscray Station is around 5.6 km via the river trail and some quiet streets
