Opening Act:HAWKRADA
Immersed in the art of the reinventing, HAWKRADA aims to push the envelope of what it means to be a beatsmith, journeying thru various backdrops and maintaining a raw, organic approach to chopping up. Offering up his sounds to artists of the likes of Teether, Chef Chung, N01 and many others, HAWKRADA pushes to emphasise the importance of what it means to be an artist unbound by conventional norms
Headliner:Olive Yaah
Olive Yaah is a keyboardist, singer, producer and visual artist born in Germany and currently based in Naarm (Melbourne). While fusioning Hip Hop, Soul, Vaporwave and Experimental in her production, she embeds her magnetic and vulnerable voice in a keyplay that draws on Jazz and impressionist composers. Performing both solo and with a band, her polyrhythmic song arrangements invite heavy interplay with her rhythm section while sampler beats and pianistic and vocal landscapes provide a world of their own. All of her musical releases are complimented by her visual art. The work of the former leader of the German band Relaén includes releasing the critically acclaimed album “Twines” and two further EPs, touring Germany, Europe and Japan, and supporting acts like Roy Ayers, Azymuth, Noname, Macy Gray, Makaya McCraven and Ed Motta. She appears on several records as a vocalist and keyboardist collaborating with producers such as Flofilz, Suff Daddy, Twit One, Dramadigs and Ziggy Zeitgeist. In May 2023 Olive Yaah released a self-produced album featuring some of Melbourne’s local talent such as Matthew Hayes, Myka Wallace, Kumar Shome, Erica Tucceri, Zoë Barry and Esther Henderson.
