Perth Folk and Roots Club is back starting a new year at the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club on Sunday 26th February 2023 with the support of the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club and City of Stirling. The performances are from 5pm to 8pm at the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club, 1 Stancliffe Street, Mount Lawley. For this event, the Perth Folk and Roots Club has Kyra Bee and the Illegals and Jeremy Boyd.

‘Perth Folk and Roots Club welcomes back Kyra Bee and the Illegals and Jeremy Boyd to perform at Perth Folk and Roots Club‘, said Keith Anthonisz, President of the Perth Folk and Roots Club.

Kyra Bee and the Illegals are a five piece Rock and Blues Perth Hills based outfit formed in July 2016. They are winners of the Blues Challenge heat and runner up in the International Blues Challenge competition held at the Bridgetown Blues Festival in 2016. They have been playing gigs around Perth City and the hills ever since and represented the Hills Blues Club at this year’s 25th Anniversary of Bridgetown Blues. With a Blues, Country and Jazz flavor, singer Kyra Bee astounds audiences with her powerful vocal prowess. She joins rhythm guitarist Melanie Dius, who has studied Jazz for 8 years and played in the Perth Hills Jazz Orchestra, even supporting The Black Sorrows in Perth. Gerald Ball’s smooth electrifying guitar licks complement the eclectic genres Kyra Bee and the Illegals are known for. Geoff Eastwood (bass guitar) and Bart Hayes (drums) form the tight rhythm section synonymous with Kyra Bee and the Illegals.

Jeremy Boyd has previously played in a duet at Perth Folk and Roots Club with Clarence Bailey on drums in JemClak to the crowds pleasure. Jeremy has also played in many different musical bands and combos in Perth and beyond over the years. Jeremy has recorded Alive and Kicking with a wonderful acoustic version of May You Never by John Martyn. Jeremys acoustic guitar work in a thrill for audiences and his repertoire is wide and eclectic playing everything from James Taylor and Chris Smithers to Bonnie Rait, Stevie Wonder and The Police.

‘As always we are also looking for up and coming artists to do a few numbers for the audience’, Keith added.
