Remote Thoughts

Remote Thoughts is a one woman solo show about living and teaching in the remote Aboriginal community of Wadeye in the Northern Territory. The audience are offered an insight into a world that they would otherwise often not have experienced. This insight helps to raise awareness of the raft of complex issues that the First Nations people of Australia continually face. Social justice and potentially affecting social change in some small way are huge drivers in creating this work. Locating myself in the cultural minority as a whitefella woman in a blackfella world is an interesting cultural perspective that we do not often have the privilege to occupy. A combination of storytelling, song, spoken word tragi/ comic moments make up the roller coaster ride that is the experience of Remote Thoughts.
