Come and join us for a special fundraising night.
This is all about funding for Lachie Mc Credie.
It's been 8 months since we were told those words, your son has cancer. Lachlan has had at least 10 different types of chemotherapy administered multiple times a week. To compliment the chemotherapy, he has also required steroids, which changed him into a ravenous, swollen, lethargic, emotional human that lost the ability to walk, to toilet independently. These are just some of the drugs required to fight the Leukemia cells. And then there is the multitude of blood and platelet transfusions required for him to simply continue living.
Lachlan still has 20 months of chemotherapy to go. We have already seen the signs of what lies ahead. He has severe peripheral neuropathy. Basically, he will need to walk again, or never be cleared to drive. He has severe body scarring. We do not know what damage has been done internally, but there is 100% guarantee that there is some. This child is 16 years old. He should be getting his first job, exploring the world, learning to drive, thinking about what the future holds. Instead, he is just trying to make it through the day.
