Sacred Sullivan

In his double role of St Peter’s Cathedral Choir Director and State Opera Head of Music, Anthony Hunt has curated a special service of Choral Evensong, featuring the sacred music of Arthur Sullivan.

The Savoy operas will always remain Sullivan’s most enduring legacy. However, sacred music was his most abiding love, oozing spiritual sensitivity, as well as artistic competence and daring innovation.

G&S FEST offers you a rare chance to hear Sullivan’s fiery Thanksgiving for Victory Te Deum, composed in the last few years of his life, featuring his famous melody Onward Christian Soldiers; and to sing for yourself some of Sullivan’s greatest hymn tunes.
