In a showcase of technology never seen in Western Australia, Wireless Hill Museum will open its latest exhibition Solid State: A Revolution in Radios now until Sunday 8 October.

Shining a light on the impact that changing technology has had throughout history, this exhibition examines the transition from valve to transistor technology in radio communication and how that caused a mass change in the accessibility of information.

With over 40 pieces from private collections and transistor enthusiasts across the state, the exhibition tells a story of technological transition, improvements in communication and shifts in the cultural and political landscapes of the time.

Solid State: A Revolution in Radios is a rare opportunity for history buffs to experience the nostalgia of a bygone era and a cultural escape for technology lovers and the wider community alike. For more information, visit www.melvillecity.com.au/wirelesshillmuseum
