Statewide Caravan Safety Check Program

In response to the post-Covid caravanning boom and the rapid rise in recreational vehicle (RV) ownership across Queensland over the past few years, Toowoomba will kick off a FREE statewide caravan safety check program this weekend.

Open to all owners of caravans, campers and motorhomes, VanSafe Queensland will educate and support recreational vehicle (RV) owners with the information they need to tow confidently, safely and compliantly – helping to create safer roads right across the state.

Owners can book in for a FREE RV combination inspection and weigh for safety and compliance. To encourage participation, the event will be a safe zone for all who attend meaning no fines or breaches will be issued.

Attendees car and caravan will be weighed and inspected and a full report emailed to you after the event which is taking place over two days from Friday, October, 6 to Sunday, October, 8. Bookings are essential and strictly limited.

In addition to safety workshops and displays, the event will feature free Weight and Towing Masterclasses covering weight distribution, correct loading, towing tips and tricks as well as an open Q&A format to empower all attendees with the knowledge to embark on their next road trip safely.

With the highest number of registered recreational vehicles in Queensland (201,477) and a 190% increase in Google searches around caravan safety in Queensland, there is no excuse for current or aspiring ‘cara-fans’ not head on down to one of the below masterclasses – but remember to BYO chair!
