2023 is the 50th anniversary of Dark Side Of The Moon which has sold over 45 million copies worldwide and its album cover, a simple prism spectrum, is an instantly recognisable pop culture icon.
To mark the occasion, CCEntertainment will return to the Memo Music Hall on Friday 13 & Saturday 14 January 2023 to deliver 'The Great Gig In The Sky' celebrating the musical legacy of Pink Floyd.

Now in its 20th year this hugely popular show has been an annual staple on the Sydney calendar and ventures into Melbourne for the third time.

This brilliant homage concert features some exceptional guest vocalists featuring Melbourne favorite Mick Pealing (Stars / Spaniards), plus guesting from Sydney, Marc Dakosta (Idol), Susannah Mirana (Moulin Roque), Wayne Jury and introducing Kate Daley.

You'll hear hits like Money, Time, Us and Them as well as many of The Floyd's other hits from various albums like Have a Cigar, Another Brick in the Wall, and many others!

Inimitable creative director Joseph Calderazzo (The Bloomvilles / Jenny Morris) will coordinate a superb eight-piece band including guitar great Shannon Bourne (Tex Perkins/Broderick Smith), Ian Tilley (Boom Crash Opera), Bennet Livingston (Lillye), Amy Nelson (Little Green) and Andy Burns (QED / Madder Lake).

The performance promises to please even the most critical Pink Floyd fan, so don't just wish you were there, book now!

Shows such as The Great Gig In The Sky will gain more and more importance as the years go on. Floyd are no more, Roger Waters is still active but now in his 70s, his touring schedule will start to slow down. David Gilmour has never toured Australia as a solo act and there is no word on Nick Mason bringing his ‘Saucerful of Secrets’ tour to Australia.

This is a bit like orchestras around the world performing the classical classics. No-one ever calls the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra a covers band when they perform Beethoven. As time goes “ticking away the moments that make up a dull day” and as Floyd gets “shorter of breath and one day closer to death” the live music experience from our contemporary rock classics will come via people like Joseph Calderazzo.
