The world’s largest annual nude swimming race, Sydney Skinny, will return on Sunday, 12 March 2023. The event returns after a three year Covid hiatus and is promising to be bigger and better than ever. The event may even break the 2018 world record for the largest ever skinny dip of 2,505 people in Ireland. Held annually at Sydney Harbour’s legal nude beach, Cobblers, this year’s event will support charity Skin Check Champions in its fight against skin cancer. The event is for everyone who wants to step outside of their comfort zone. It’s an all ticketed, no spectator event in a secluded national park where everyone is clothed on land and covered by water or a sarong when naked.

The recent Spencer Tunick nude photo installation on Bondi Beach saw more the 2,500 people strip off for a good cause – and all of these participants are being invited to participate in the 300m harbour swim. The Sydney Skinny usually attracts up to 2,000 people, and with so many people now embracing harbour swimming after the opening of Barangaroo’s beach – the event organisers are expecting big numbers. Go to sydneyskinny.com.au and register to reserve your spot.
