The City of Melbourne proudly presents internationally acclaimed organist Joseph Nolan performing The Vierne Project, Louis Vierne's complete organ symphonies. This unique event will take place from July 18-28, with six concerts over five days on Melbourne Town Hall’s Grand Organ.

Vierne's symphonies are among the organ repertoire's most challenging and impressive works. The symphonies, characterised by their complexity, virtuosity, and emotional power, are a true test of the performer's ability and a thrilling experience for the listener.

Not to be missed, this event will showcase the remarkable sound of the Melbourne Town Hall's historic Grand Organ, considered one of the world's finest instruments of its kind. Originally built in 1929, the Melbourne Town Hall Grand Organ uses ninety thousand cubic feet of air every minute and can produce anything from a delicate whistle to deafening thunder.

The Town Hall Grand Organ was lovingly refurbished and relaunched in 2001 and now contains drums, bells and almost eight thousand pipes across three town hall levels.

The Vierne Project promises to be a tour de force of musicianship and technical prowess.
