WILDWOOD CHRISTMAS WORKSHOP SERIES

Building off the success of our last series of workshops we invite you to our next series which will focus specifically on making long lasting and sustainable Christmas gifts - while also enjoying a great day in the bush.

The courses on offer to choose from for this workshop weekend are:

Christmas Wreaths or Flower Arrangements w/ Bess

Make your own natural dyes then make your own scarves, throw pillows and tea towels w/textile designer and weaver Samorn Sanixay

Screen printing w/ Lisa and the Softpower Studio Team

Kids 6-13 can join Benedicte and the Wildwood Team in making very Australian Christmas decorations

Christmas Wreaths or Flower Arrangements w/ Bess

Cost: AU$275 per person Duration: 9.00am to 12.00pm or 13.00pm to 4pm / Guests per class: 15
Working in our sandstone cave workshop - participants will pick all the flowers they would like to work with and have Bess walk them through the are of floristry E.g. stylistic directions and size considerations, floral choices based on this while making their own creations.

Inclusions: All guests will walk away with $200 worth of flowers (bouquets in the morning, wreaths in the afternoon)

1 Day Natural Dye workshop with w/textile designer and weaver Samorn Sanixay

Cost: AU$350.00 per person / Duration: 9.00am to 3.00pm / Guests per class: 15

INCLUSIONS: All participants of this workshop will walk away with $200 worth of textiles (hand woven by Samorn silk scarf, wool throw pillow and linen tea towel) and enjoy a picnic lunch box, snacks and wines and beers.

Samorn Sanixay is a textile designer and weaver with twenty years experience as a natural dyer. She is Co-Founder of Eastern Weft weaving cooperative based in Vientiane, Laos, set up to support disadvantaged young Lao artisans of ethnic minority hill tribes through traditional textile crafts.

She has produced handwoven textiles for some of the finest Australian Fashion designers such as Akira Isogawa and has been exhibited in Paris and Japan.

The natural dyeing techniques are based on local and seasonal dyes, working in harmony with our natural surroundings. Once you have learnt some basic techniques, they can be applied to all environments.


As the current Eucalypt Australia Dahl fellowship recipient Samorn is currently collecting 300 species of Eucalyptus species to create a Eucalyptus colour map of Australia. During her workshop you will forage in our garden and 100 acres of bushland and rainforest for ingredients to use for prints, immersive colour to dye high quality, natural material scarves, throws and tea towels.

Inclusions: All participants of this workshop will walk away with $200 worth of textiles (tshirt, tote, tea towel and 5 x Christmas cards)

Learn to screen print in our bush shed with Lisa and the Softpower Studio team - learning to mix and layer colours and how different garments need to be approached with designs.

The Wildwood Christmas Tree Decorators Club

Cost: AU$75 per child Duration: 9.00am to 12.00pm or 13.00pm to 4.00pm / Guests per class: 15

Our friends at Kangaroo Valley Woodcrafts have designed and lavved some very special Wildwood Animal christmas decoartions out of local woods. The workshop will involve going exploring in the garden and finding things like gum nuts, flowers and leaves to decorate them with.

Inclusions: 6 x sustainable high quality, locally made Christmas decorations. Substantial and nutritious snacks through the day.
