Wilfrid Gordon McDonald Partridge is a delightful, funny and poignant story about a small boy who lives next to an old people's home.

Wilfrid has many adventures with his neighbours, but his most favourite neighbour of all is Miss Nancy Alison Delacourt Cooper. When he finds out Miss Nancy has lost her memory, he sets out to help her find it again.

Skilfully and faithfully adapted by acclaimed Perth composer Emma Jayakumar from the book by Mem Fox and Julie Vivas, this heartwarming chamber opera features the warm, lyrical sounds of mezzo-soprano Caitlin Cassidy and baritone Brett Peart, alongside the sparky and energetic child actors, Dante Pendergrast and Narayan Jayakumar, who play Wilfrid.

Directed with playful humour and emotion by Andries Weidemann, the opera is an immersive, fast-moving and imaginative experience, accompanied by clarinet, cello, double bass and piano.

Families will enjoy the relaxed setting of this performance space, interacting with the singers and learning a new song. The music is soulful and emotive, and the charming story touches hearts young and old.

"Operatic adaptation delights young and old ... captivating... playful and uplifting ... mellow and poignant" - SeeSaw
"Gorgeous - funny, witty, poignant and so full of light!" - Matt Ottley
