SOLD OUT! The 2024 BBB Luncheon tickets have sold out for another year – Black Bold & Beautiful First Nations Fashion Parade is always a popular event on Brisbane’s fashion calendar with over 400 tickets sold.

Australia’s premier celebration of First Nations fashion, business and culture returns to Brisbane with the 2024 instalment of the Black Bold and Beautiful (BBB) Luncheon.

To be held on March 11 at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre the event marks International Women’s Day in a way that celebrates, promotes and supports First Nations communities, culture, business and creativity.

First launched in 2009, the event has been driven by founder Aunty Sandra King OAM and will feature guest speakers, fashion parade, food and a unique showcase of First Nations businesses from across the state.

Sandra, who was among the country’s first prominent First Nations fashion model in the 1970s, explains the event provides a forum for First Nations women and non-Indigenous women to come together and network, invest and inspire each other.

Hosted by Logie award winning journalist Karina Hogan, the event will hear from guest speakers Lillian Lampton (Mum Lil), Dr Jackie Huggins AM FAHA, Nicole Reilly, and Janaya Johnston.

The luncheon offers exhibitor stalls for First Nations businesses and organisations and will also feature a live performance from acclaimed soul singer Rochelle Pitt Watson - a Quandamooka and Meriam woman – who was a finalist on the Australian television show X Factor and has received many awards for her soulful voice.

This year’s event is proudly supported by Hyperdome, Brisbane City Council, South Bank Corporation, Rydges Hotels, Virgin Airlines, Harvey Norman, Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre, and First Nations business Lox and Co.
