Cave Songs: Subterrane

East Gippsland musical duo, Raven & the Dove (Cindy Lee & David Swift) return to the Buchan Caves with 'Cave Songs: Subterrane': a new show for the 2024 East Gippsland Winter Festival.

'Cave Songs: Subterrane' is an intimate, immersive and truly unique experience: a 30-minute audio-visual performance blending original music, visual projections, soundscape and spoken word, set within the natural ambience and acoustics of the Blackwood Chamber.

Inspired by the cave’s 380-million-year-old creation and set amongst its limestone landscape, the warm, womblike cave (constant 17 degrees) is a refuge from winter, inviting us to experience the dreamlike threshold of being between two worlds: above and below, inside and outside.

Accessibility:
* 25 step staircase
* Standing only for 30 minutes.
* Limited to only 20 visitors per show (last year sold out so please book early!)
* Arrive at the Visitor’s Center half an hour before your session time
* Children 8-16 are welcome but younger kids might find the regular cave tours more comfortable
