Budding mini Ninjas have an opportunity to learn from a champion when former Ninja Warrior contestant Olivia Vivian heads to Ninja Parc Western Sydney for two special workshops this Sunday March 3.

For everyone – from avid obstacles runners to those new to Ninja – Olivia will run 2 x 1.5-hour workshops for kids aged 6-16 years, sharing some of her secrets to mastering the obstacles like a true champ.

Since Australian Ninja Warrior paused on filming, Olivia has been overseas competing in other ninja competitions, performing motivational speeches in schools and recently earned her fourth Guinness World Record in Milan Italy. She holds the current record for the most consecutive flying bar jumps.

“Ninja helped me fall in love with health and fitness again, which I lost after the intensity of the Australian gymnastics culture,” said Olivia.

“Ninja connected me with my 8-year-old self who loved to learn, play and try new things. It also has an incredibly supportive community that makes training and competing so much fun.”

Ninja is a fantastic option to teach kids all sorts of natural body movements, said Olivia.

“It also encourages resilience and persistence because we don't always achieve something straight away, and it's a wonderful mindset to view something as a challenge rather than doubt our abilities or assume it's impossible.”

Olivia would love kids to walk away from the workshops knowing that movement and fitness is fun and a privilege.

“Some people think exercise is a chore, but I believe they just haven't found the right activity yet that excites them. We will also encourage resilience and goal setting as good things take time and nothing’s impossible if you have a never-give-up kind of attitude.”

For Olivia, Warped Walls are usually her most challenging obstacle.

“I don't have the strongest legs - but I do my best to continue to work on them and create new tricks for when I do reach and grab the top!”

The workshops will be held on Sunday March 3 at 10am-1130 and 1130-1pm and are suitable for kids 6-16. The workshops include an opportunity for photos and autographs with Olivia. The cost is $60. Places are limited so bookings are essential.
