Lunar New Year

Celebrate the beginning of the Lunar New Year on Saturday 10 February in Chinatown, Southport!

2024 is the Year of the Dragon, representing auspiciousness and imperial power.

The fiery festivities will take place on Davenport and Young Streets from 3pm and include a vibrant melting pot of colourful entertainment including lion and dragon dancers, market stalls, kids activities (paper-cutting and Chinese calligraphy), an interactive wishing tree, fan and umbrella dancing and to top it off, a sizzling fireworks finale!

The $5 food safari is back and will have you roaring around Chinatown feasting on the delectable $5 food and beverage cultural delights!
