On Thursday, March 28, 2024, JMQ Jazz Ensemble is delighted to again feature NADIRA FARID, an Indonesian-Australian Jazz vocalist, with guest saxophonist JUSTINE JONES, alongside Michael Harding, Ryan Menezes, Barney Loveland and John Montesante at the welcoming Golden Gate Hotel, South Melbourne at 7PM.

Full of energy and enthusiasm, Nadira sings with the kind of joy that is contagious. She is a petite, yet commanding, performer, who provides fresh, cheeky renditions of jazz standards and tunes from The Great American Songbook,. Based in both Hobart and Melbourne, Nadira performs with a pool of jazz musicians in various formats from duo to 12-piece and has performed at Clubs and Festivals across Australia, accompanied by leading jazz musicians.

Justine is a jazz saxophonist, vocalist, composer, band-leader and producer in Melbourne with ten albums on her own label. She has toured in Europe, USA, & nationally throughout Australia, as well as performing many local gigs and festivals with her bands. She has played saxophone on the albums of many other artists including, Max Merritt, Mario Genovese, Col Millington Soul wide open and The Living End. She has also presented radio shows on Jazz and writes music for film and TV. JMQ is pleased to finally introduce her to our jazz audience.

Come along and savour this evening featuring female jazz artists. Doors and Dinner, 6.30pm and Live Jazz 7pm.
