Stacey Colleey + Andrea Illés assemble various forms of performance; pop covers, choreography, noise, and live video to unmake a shape-shifting adaptation of Purcell’s opera Dido & Aeneas. During the four week durational performance they will explore the relationship between eros and annihilation within and without the libretto.
The artists will be present in the space each day from 4-6pm. Over the course of this time they will be performing segments of the opera as well as filming each other. The installation will be open for viewing outside of these hours, video and footage from the live performance will be looped on the monitors (12-4pm) daily.
Come along to the opening night on Thursday 1 February, 6pm–8pm, with a special performance on the night.
