MUSIC has taken many forms throughout time, and cultures have developed styles and instruments to express emotions in endlessly fascinating ways. But nothing quite rivals the human voice. When that is harnessed in powerful, soaring harmonies by the Sydney Male Choir, you know you are experiencing something special.

The SMC is a vibrant, harmonious group of men dedicated to spreading joy through music. Their melodious voices blend seamlessly to create harmonies that inspire, uplift, and bring smiles to audiences. Whether singing contemporary, classical, rock, musicals or gospel, the choir’s dynamic energy and unwavering positivity, create an unforgettable musical experience, that will touch your heart and lift your spirit.

Their story commenced in tragic circumstances in 1913 when a promising violinist in inner city Petersham, Charlie Miller, had his violin career cut short by an industrial accident. Undaunted, and driven by his passion for music, he started this men's chorus. It is remarkable how they have adapted over the decades to changing musical tastes and preferences of their audiences.

This iconic stalwart of the Sydney music and arts scene, which celebrated its 110th anniversary in 2023, is again returning to the Wyong Art House for a concert on Sunday 23rd June 2024.

The extent and versatility of their repertoire - think Paul Simon, Joe Cocker, Ed Shearan, Queen, Eric Clapton and Credence Clearwater Revival, musicals…Les Misérables, Oklahoma, Camelot, and opera…Wagner and Verdi, just to name a few, will impress you.

Once again, the Choir is excited to be joined by your own Wyong Music Theatre Company, adding their energy, expertise, excellence and enthusiasm to the showwith songs from much-loved musicals…Phantom of the Opera, Jekyll and Hyde, Sound of Music, Sister Act 2 and more.

Soon after their last Wyong concert in 2022, the boys were invited to feature on the nationally televised program, Australia's Got Talent, where a great performance of "You are so beautiful”, and a Queen medley produced a rapturous reaction with the audience rocking in the aisles.
