Virgil Donati, a pioneering force in the world of drumming, has consistently pushed boundaries for decades, recognized not only for his exceptional drumming but also his compositional and orchestration skills.
At the age of 16, Virgil turned professional to pursue music and has dedicated his entire life to this art form. His driving force has always been an insatiable desire to express himself through his playing.
In his early years in Australia, Virgil made waves in the pop-rock scene with his band Southern Sons, achieving multi-platinum success. Simultaneously, he ventured into progressive and fusion realms with projects like Loose Change and On The Virg.
In 1996, Virgil made the pivotal move to the USA, where he embarked on a journey of collaboration with musical legends like Planet X, Steve Vai, Allan Holdsworth, Tony MacAlpine, Kiko Loureiro, Bunny Brunel, CAB, Scott Henderson, Steve Walsh, Tribal Tech, among many others.
