With the first Melbourne show selling out last week, Illusive has now announced a second and final Melbourne date on 4th January at Laundry Bar. Sydney, Brisbane and Perth are now in final ticket allocation and on track to sell out.
Widely regarded as one of the greatest hip-hop producers of all time, Pete Rock first rose to prominence as part of the hugely influential duo Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth. From there, he has embarked on an unrivalled production and solo career spanning two decades, seeing him produce iconic records for Run DMC, Public Enemy, A Tribe Called Quest, Nas, Ghostface Killah and Redman to name a few. He is credited as playing a major role in merging elements of jazz and funk into hip hop music, and has most recently been brought back into rap’s consciousness with his production on Jay-Z & Kanye West’s ‘Watch The Throne’ album (‘The Joy’).
The man has a record collection that clocks well into the 90,000s and a resume featuring the likes of ‘Down With The King’, ‘The World is Yours’, ‘Shut ‘em Down’ and ‘T.R.O.Y’.
