Dubbo to host a new month-long regional festival

Australia's first ever month-long regional festival will be held in Dubbo in September.

Filled with all sorts of events - film, arts, music, animals, food, dance and circus performance - Dubbo Festival will be launched at Taronga Western Plains Zoo with support from Destination NSW and Inland NSW Tourism.

The festival umbrella also covers the Inland NSW Film Festival, which will consist of a whopping 26 days of events, exhibitions, screenings, performances, parties and workshops as well as premieres of Australian feature films and documentaries.

For the non-thespians among us, the Zoo Grooves concert has Ian Moss headlining with local Dubbo act Mumblepants and Sydney covers band Jelly Bean Jam on support duties.

There are also plenty of free outdoor entertainment events on the festival schedule, including The Carnival of the Animals parade, Multicultural and Red Ochre Festival and DREAM Senses, to take the whole family along to.

The full program will be revealed on August 1, with tickets available from August 8 2012.
