Weekend Picks: Food, fashion, flowers, fireworks and the funnies

Syok! Malaysia Festival Canberra is on tomorrow in Canberra, serving up traditional delights for the eyes, ears and tastebuds, as OzAsia Festival winds up its treat giving run in Adelaide with a beautiful Moon Lantern Festival on Sunday evening. Darwin gets to experience some of the best indie tunes in Australia with Dappled Cities playing tonight and tomorrow eve, while Launceston can get their dance on to the soulful blues groove of The Rubens and Xavier Rudd gets around the south Western Australian with three dates packed into the weekend. The Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers comes to a close, as does Brisbane Festival, and it will be a blast, with the spectacular Riverfire show. Further south, TiNA takes over Newcastle all weekend, as all things German are celebrated at Tempe’s Concordia Club, and fashion finishes first at The ICONIC Fashion Day at Rosehill. Finally, if you’re in Victoria, be sure to catch the last of the Australian Ballet’s Swan Lake shows, and at the other end of performing arts taste, Tim and Eric are getting on stage - great job!
