The Perth International Comedy Festival was so successful with its inaugural year it will be back in 2013 with over 50 events, 150 performances and countless laughs for 2013.
The jokers behind the festival have yelled out to lock in 1 May to 19 May 2013 if you have a sense of humour, stretching the event over a massive 19 days.
They will have a hilarious mix of local, national and international comedians once more, performing in four venues across Mount Lawley so you will have ample opportunity to laugh ‘til you cry.
The initial line-up announcement includes Jim Jeffries doing his solo show in Perth for the first time, Lawrence Leung potentially talking about accidental fist-fights and Colin Firth, Lawrence Mooney probably still boasting about being named Melbourne Fringe Best Comedy Winner for 2011, “post-modern Barry Humphries” (The Australian) Asher Treleaven and “Graham Norton’s younger Aussie clone” (The Pun) Joel Creasey, plus international acts with Gordon Southern (UK) and Tommy Dean (USA).
There will also be a slew of parties with the Gala Launch Party, Opening Night Gala and Festival Finale announced so far, and best of all, there will be free comedy events because even though laughing is usually involuntary, it is probably also a right.
Tickets will go on sale at 9am 24 Wednesday October.
