Supafest 4 unveils line-up

Supafest 4 has unveiled its line-up much to the delight of urban music maniacs, but also posing difficult decisions for them to make (more on that later).

The hip-hop, rap, R&B and DJ music festival is entering its fourth celebration of urban tunes, and will be visiting Perth, Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane.

Locked into the line-up are three-time Grammy winner TI, R&B icon Ne-Yo, birthday enthusiast 50 Cent, collaborating master and ringtone sales world record holder Akon, and more (full list below).

In what many fans and industry insiders are condemning as a dodgy move, Supafest 4 is on at the same time as fellow urban music festival Movement.

Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney are hosting both Supafest 4 and Movement on the same days, which is the equivalent of telling punters they have to choose between their BFFs.

I'd call this "poor form", as those who would attend Movement are also likely to want to go to Supafest 4, and in the urban music festival scarce market in Australia, aren't we all urban allies? These festivals need to support each other for the good of the game!

If they'd put the shows on back-to-back rather than creating a direct clash, ticket sales might be smoother, no one would be getting called names by punters and press, and it'd be a super urban music festival weekend with some healthy competition that could go tête-à-tête over line-ups, planning and vibes. Silly billies.

The full line-up goes like this:
50 Cent
J. Cole
Waka Flocka
Young Jeezy
Mindless Behaviour
Kevin McCall
DJ Nino Brown Dizzy Doolan & Phinesse

There's a presale on today until midnight for Supafest 4, and general tickets go on sale at midday tomorrow 12 March.
