Perth Stadium moves forward and Canberra to get new addition

After ten years of talking, work will start on the 60,000-capacity sports and entertainment Perth Stadium.

Ertech Keller Joint Venture won the $30 million contract to start work in June in analysing the environmental risks and set up the foundation.

The construction, at a cost of $1.147 billion, will begin late 2014 with three of the world’s top stadium builders on the short list.

In other venue news, Canberra will get a new undercover rectangular sports and concert stadium by 2020. With its $200 million cost from government and private funding, the venue with a clear roof will be built on the site of the Civic pool.
