Sydney pub owners enter administration

Sydney pub owners and operators J&J O'Brien went into receivership despite turning over $23 million a year. In its portfolio are the Belvedere Hotel which booked bands, and the Cohibar and The Watershed Hotel which had DJs on. Receivers PPB Advisory will continue to run the venues.

In other news, Wollongong live music venue Oxford Tavern was sold to a Sydney developer after seven months on the market. Mackay’s Criterion nightclub also hung out a For Sale sign on a “receiver’s sale”. Ruby's Lounge in Melbourne’s Belgrave has axed its gigs and disconnected its phone.
