The U.S. electronica Ultra Music festival will be staged in Sydney in 2014, as part of its latest global roll-out.
This year’s Miami festival drew 330,000 (and streamed to over 10 million), to a bill featuring Swedish House Mafia, Deadmau5, Tiësto, David Guetta, Calvin Harris, Kaskade, Avicii and Major Lazer. Ultra Music has also expanded to Chile, Ibiza, Brazil, Korea and this year also launches in Croatia in July.
Founder Russell Faibisch last year expressed amazement at Ultra’s pulling power. "Yeah, it started on the beach," he said. We have the chance to get pretty much anyone. I'm amazed every day.”
