Love Police Touring are thrilled to announce the return of their bearded and bespectacled pal from Gomez, Ben Ottewell, for a national Australian tour throughout November.
After leaving fans wanting more following his incredible 2014 whirlwind 'Rattlebag Tour', Ben will again traverse this great land, belting out tunes from the Gomez songbook and his excellent solo releases, Shapes & Shadows and Rattlebag. Taking in Fremantle, Perth, Adelaide, Hobart, Northcote, Melbourne, Belgrave, Elsternwick and Brisbane, Ben will finish up at Mullum 2015, "The Biggest Little Music Festival in Australia".
“He kept us entertained with some stellar song choices but it was his unique and frankly powerful voice that left us all leaning in and wanting more.” - The AU Review
As a singer and lead guitarist in rock band Gomez, Ben Ottewell is well known for his unmistakable voice and talent for blistering and inspired guitar work. Rolling Stone declared, "Gomez's not-so- secret weapon is Ben Ottewell.” And as GQ Magazine once wrote and anyone listening can attest, "[his] voice is not of this world.”
Simultaneously stripped-down and lush, Rattlebag is a collection of beautifully poetic tales of salvation and redemption, of sanctuary and braving rocky seas in search of distant shores. Ottewell’s infectious melodies and bluesy riffs will stick with you, and beg you to sing along. Rattlebag is out now locally on Cooking Vinyl Australia.
Recently performing at this years SXSW, Ben was asked to participate in the SongCraft Presents web series, where artists are asked to write and record a song in the span of three hours! You can listen to Ben's new tune 'Sugarcoat' here and read what he had to say about the experience.
Joining Ben again on all dates (except Mullum Music Festival) will be special guest Buddy (USA) who's impassioned performance opening the Rattlebag Tour really got the night a hummin'.
Ottewell’s acoustic guitar and harrowing vocals are truly mesmerising. Catch Ben and special guest Buddy (USA) in intimate venues across Australia this November.
