Engelbert Humperdinck Brings His 'The Man I Want To Be Tour' To Australia Next Year

Romantic balladeer Engelbert Humperdinck is bringing his 'The Man I Want To Be Tour' to our shores in March next year. He will first perform at the Gold Coast's The Star, then he will serenade fans at the State Theatre in Sydney and Palais Theatre in Melbourne. The final show will take place at Perth's Riverside Theatre.

The Australian dates will follow Engelbert's NZ shows which will see him touching the hearts of audiences at Auckland's Bruce Mason Centre, Christchurch's Isaac Theatre Royal and Wellington's The Opera House.

Despite growing up extraordinarily shy, Engelbert Humperdinck found his way into the limelight. He shot to fame in 1967 after his single ‘Release Me’ famously blocked The Beatles from scoring the number one chart position with their then new track ‘Penny Lane’. Following on from 50 weeks in the UK charts, the Leicester-based entertainer continued his meteoric rise to fame, becoming a sex symbol to women worldwide and delivering one of the most iconic voices of his generation.

With a career spanning half a century, Engelbert amassed 64 Gold albums, 35 Platinum records, four Grammy nominations, a Golden Globe award and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He has performed for the Queen, as well as for several presidents, alongside music legends like Ray Charles, Tom Jones and Dean Martin. He also became a close friend of Elvis Presley.
