Metallica's 'WorldWired Tour' Lands Down Under This October With Slipknot In Tow

Legendary US rockers Metallica are bringing their highly-acclaimed 'WorldWired Tour' to Australia this October. They will first slay the stage at Perth's Optus Stadium, then will head to Adelaide Oval before blowing down the walls of Melbourne's Marvel Stadium, Sydney's ANZ Stadium and Queensland Sports and Athletics Centre for the final show. The tour continues to New Zealand with an exclusive show at Auckland's Mt Smart Stradium. Joining them on all dates are equally epic metallers, Slipknot.

The headline stadium concerts mark Metallica's first ever visit on our shores since 2013's Soundwave Festival. The band launched the 'WorldWired Tour' in 2016 off the back of their 10th studio album 'Hardwired... to Self-Destruct'. So far, they have already played over 130 shows in Latin and North America as well as in Europe.

Formed in 1981 by drummer Lars Ulrich and guitarist and vocalist James Hetfield, Metallica have become one of the most influential and commercially successful rock bands in history, having sold 100 million albums across the globe and playing to millions of fans worldwide. They have scored almost a dozen multi-platinum albums, including 1991's 'Metallica' (commonly referred to as 'The Black Album'), which is the best selling album in history of Soundscan, scanning almost 15.7 million albums in the United States alone, and over 25 million worldwide. In October 2008, their latest album 'Death Magnetic' debuted at number one on the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart and in 27 additional countries around the world. Award magnets, Metallica have nine Grammy Awards, two American Music Awards, and multiple MTV Video Music Awards under their belt. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2009.

Slipknot, on the other hand, have been slaying concert stages since 1995. Known for their attention-grabbing masks and costumes, the nu metal band have captured the hearts of fans with hits like 'Goodbye', 'The Nameless', 'Custer', 'Left Behind' and 'The Negative One' to name a few. They also won the 2006 Grammy Award for Best Performance for their song 'Before I Forget'.

Grab your tickets and let Metallica and Slipknot wake your inner senses with their electrifying performances this October!
