Shrek the Musical takes to Australian stages next year

It's Australia's turn next year to witness 'Shrek the Musical' live on stage. Audiences at Sydney Lyric Theatre will first get to experience the magical, adventurous and romantic tale of the Broadway smash hit. Following the Sydney dates, the musical will take a residency at Melbourne's Her Majesty's Theatre before the final season at Brisbane's Lyric Theatre.

Based on the Oscar®-winning DreamWorks film, 'Shrek the Musical' brings the hilarious story of everyone's favourite ogre to life on stage. It will feature a terrific score of 19 songs, big laughs, great dancing and breathtaking scenery. It's no wonder The New York Times called it "True Happiness" and The Daily Mirror said it's "the most fun you'll ever have."

This lavish multi-million dollar musical will be starring Ben Mingay as Shrek, Lucy Durack as Princess Fiona and Todd McKenney as Lord Farquaad (Sydney & Melbourne). Playing the role of the Dragon at all shows will be special guest Marcia Hines. The role of the Donkey who becomes Shrek's best friend will be portrayed by Nat Jobe.

Taking on a multitude of roles within the fairy tale realm are Ross Chisari (as Little Pig), Annie Chiswell (Ugly Duckling), Benjamin Colley (Pied Piper), Andy Conaghan (Wolf), Denise Devlin (Mama Bear), Mackenzie Dunn (Swing), Blake Erickson (Papa Bear), Manon Gunderson-Briggs (Gingy), Hollie James (Swing), Rubin Matters (Peter Pan), Sarah Murr (Fairy Godmother), Joshua Robson (Little Pig), Monique Sallé (Red Riding Hood), Tom Sharah (Little Pig), Leigh Sleightholme (Swing), Suzanne Steele (Wicked Witch), Rhys Velasquez (Swing), Caleb Vines (Pinocchio) and Sascha Wykes (Baby Bear).
