John O’Brien never planned to own a brewery. In fact this was the last thing he imagined he would be doing with a background in engineering and a career as an engineering consultant and project manager in the construction industry.
But after John was diagnosed with coeliac disease in 1998, and his doctor advised him that he could no longer drink beer, he set himself the mammoth task of creating his own gluten free craft beer that tasted just as good, if not better, than traditional barley based beer.
