An intimate trio setting brings together an array of original chamber works by Australian composers as breathtaking as a lyrebird. On flute, clarinet and percussion, with sounds both familiar and intriguing—butcherbirds, blackbirds, leafcutter ants and frogs—a journey into nature via the concert hall. Written especially for the members of Ensemble Offspring, these new works are inspired by birdsong and the weird and wonderful squeaks, croaks and creaks of the Australian bush to welcome in the dusk.
