Delight in the joyous virtuosity of Corelli's Christmas Concerto, selections of rarely performed works by Vivaldi and Purcell, and the beauty of Holst's carol “In the Bleak Midwinter”, alongside works for voices and strings spanning four centuries, performed by the soloists and ensemble of Camerata Academica of the Antipodes.

Dubbed “musically combustible” (Criticks UK) for their scholarship, talent and artistry, the Camerata returns to Epping this December with a new, festive programme of their signature blend of music from across the centuries under the direction of musicologist-performer Dr Imogen Coward.

Programme* includes Corelli's Christmas Concerto, Vivaldi's La Stravaganza Op.4 No.1, selections from Purcell's theatre music, Holst's carol "In the Bleak Midwinter", and music by local composer and pianist Dr Leon Coward, whose Chopin-esque style has received international recognition and recent work includes the score for the award-winning Canadian short-film 2BR02B: To Be or Naught To Be.

Soloists include Christopher Porteous, Laura Chung (violins), Sophia Clark (cello) and 19th century performance expert Dr Taliesin Coward (violin/voice), and composer and pianist Dr Leon Coward.

Profits from this concert support the Australian Children’s Music Foundation.
