The purpose of the concert is to introduce people who perhaps don't know much about refugees to the issues in a non-threatening manner. The night will consist of excellent folk and folk jazz fusion music mixed with raw and cut back jazz and blues that can be enjoyed by the whole family. There will be also readings of poetry written by refugees to introduce you to these topics. The music will have a focus on human rights issues, and Dawn Barrington, for one has spent time with the men in our offshore detention facilities in PNG.

At this concert, Dawn Barrington from Denmark, in Western Australia will be performing. She is a folk singer and guitar player who composes a lot of her own music.

Performing with her will be Mileyna Cifali, one of Australia's leading female guitarists and songwriters. Mileyna plays originally crafted jazz folk fusion. Her songs are about human rights, love lost and found and nature. Her delicious vocals at this concert will be backed up by DJ Gosper.

Dorothy Jane Gosper is an Australian harmonica player, singer and composer of blues/ jazz music based in Canberra. She has her own band and is just in the process of recording her seventh album “The Witness”.
