Exhibition Opening: Gene A'Hern | Small Sight Deep Dreams

Please join Blue Mountains artist Gene A'Hern at the opening of his third solo exhibition with Piermarq*, 'Small Sight Deep Dreams'. A'Hern is a contemporary artist whose work straddles the genres of landscape, figurative and abstract painting. This exhibition introduces a new medium for A'Hern in his delightfully painted ceramic vessels.

A'hern's work is inspired by the idyllic surrounds of his Blue Mountains home. More recently, domestic life with his young family has inspired interior paintings that endear the viewer with vignettes of cluttered sinks, cosy nooks and lovingly painted portraits.

Boldly colourful and gestural, this body of work has elements of Bonnard, Vuillard, Picasso and Matisse, yet is produced in an entirely contemporary light.
